I had now been away from home for 7 days. In fact, counting Tinto Summer School it was closer to 14. I had seen much, and experienced much. Time to rest.
I opted to spend the day on the balcony. Perhaps read, play a game on my laptop that I had been enjoying, and catch up with some personal administration.
I made it my mission to make a bacon roll, such is my tradition on a Sunday. This turned out to be more of a trial than expected as I had neglected to buy bacon, or indeed that essential ingredient of tomato ketchup manufactured by “Heinz”. Trading laws in the area are strict, and the majority of shops are closed on a Sunday. However, my proximity to the railway station served me well, as here the rules are different.
There was a small “Billa” at one end of the railway station, and a second “U3 Supermarket” in the underground station. The combination of these and a branch of the bakery “Ströck”allowed for the completion of my bacon/carbohydrate mission, and indeed set me up for the rest on the day.
My mission to relax was somewhat successful. I read a good section of “The Hunger Games”, and watched the prequel movie “The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes”. I also completed “The 7th Guest” remake game that I had been playing off and on for a few weeks.
It was a rainy afternoon so I spent some time in the living area of the apartment. This was appreciated, as I had yet to spend any time in this area thus far. I found it an excellent spot for movie watching. I am likely to use it for the same purpose again.
These quiet days remain very important to me, and a reason I stay in places for longer than most would. I ended the day back on the balcony, continuing my way through the first volume of “The Hunger Games”, and enjoying the fresh feeling post rain.
