My last full day in Vienna was to be simplicity itself. I simply had to:
*Wash clothes.
*Put books in exchange box.
*Do shopping.
*Drink coffee
*Eat cake.
*Read.
*Have dinner.
*Drink wine on the baclony.
All of these I did, and very much enjoyed. The coffee, and cake in particular was very well received in the searing heat. I happened upon a very interesting cafĂ© so this. “Vollpension” is a social enterprise that employs senior citizens as bakers, in order to help tackle loneliness, and promote self-empowerment. The ordering system was unique in that I requested cake, and was given a white plastic coin. This I took to a desk, and exchanged for the cake I desired. The cake very nice indeed, accompanied by my now obligatory melange coffee. I appreciated the ethos of the organisation.
The rest of my tasks bear little in the way of interest, satisfying though they were for me. I did manage to person-handle the clothes drying rack onto the balcony. This ensured quick-drying of my clothes and therefore little in the way of washing to be done on my return home.
On the balcony, I raised a glass to Vienna, and Austria.
