Tinto Summer School is a 5-day residential school in traditional music for high school age (12-18) participants. The school takes place at Wiston Lodge, a beautiful Victorian former hunting lodge in the peaceful rural heart of South Lanarkshire. Students partake in five hours of teaching per day with top traditional musicians from all over the country. Former tutors include Charlie McKerron, Anna Massie, Shona Mooney, Patsy Reid, Maeve McKinnon, Adam Sutherland, Karine Polwart, Liz Doherty to Corrina Hewat and Findlay Napier to name but a few.
In addition to the teaching we have a number of activites for evenings and breaks including campfires, BBQs, a fancy dress ceilidh and a tutor concert as well as outdoor games such as frisbee, boomerang, football, rounders and retrieving the aerobie and boomerang from trees (possibly everyone`s favourite game.).
We end the week with a fantastic participants concert in Coulter Village Hall before an all-night party to celebrate a fantastic time had by all.
